Her research may have implications for maternal and child health and in understanding diabetes, which has become epidemic in the United States. |

Working with Mark Schwartz, professor of mathematics and computer science, Anisha Barbora’s ’08 research involved parameter optimization using the approach of differential geometry. Many daily problems in both the natural and social sciences, from physics to economics, depend on optimization. |

Sara Koenig ’09 is a research assistant working with psychology professors Harry Bahrick, Lynda Hall, and Mindy Baker on an ongoing study investigating how aging slows ability to retrieve information. This research is funded by a five-year grant from the National Institutes of Health. |
